The process of planning "what" the organization wants to achieve and "why" is most often not accompanied by a robust analysis and understanding of "how". But without a clear, and measurable understanding of "how" and the balancing of the various needs and requirements, the strategic and operational planning processes do not translate into the objectives planned for. Vision and mission workshops are conducted, numbers are crunched, spreadsheets are made, and strategic plans are then drawn up, often with defined action plans.
